May 21 2018 update

For the 2018/2019 school year, we are seeking to meet the following goals:

  • Provide 75 scholarships.
  • Develop a fund of $1,000 to help graduates pay for the entrance exam/course to attend university.

To be eligible for a scholarship, the students are required to have and maintain an 8.5 average and have of course good attendance.   This is a story of one of the students selected for the program:

Luis is from a single mother (widowed) home, the eldest of four children.  The mom makes $131 dollars a month doing handicrafts and subsistence farming which she stretches to cover basic essentials of food, clothing and shelter for the family. The extra costs of transportation, uniforms and school supplies are out of her reach without the scholarship from the Program.  In three years, when Luis has graduated with a high school diploma, he will be able to get a job and perhaps even go to university. At a minimum he will triple the income in the family and help send his sisters to school.  This is the difference a donor makes in the life of a child and the circumstances of a whole family.

We look forward to your continued support of It’s About Children.  There are two ways to make a donation:

  1. Email us at admin@itsaboutchildren.org and we can make arrangements to pick up cash or a check.
  2. Or give a donation through PayPal at http://www.itsaboutchildren.org (just click the yellow donate button on your right).
